How to compress a video
- Drop a video up to 2 GB: MP4, MOV, WebM or MKV.
- Choose how much to compress: Light, Medium or Strong.
- Choose the frame size: Original, 1080p, 720p or 480p. A smaller frame means a smaller file.
- If you don't need sound, tick Remove audio.
- Click Compress and download the MP4.
How to get a smaller file
Frame size makes the biggest difference. A 4K phone video brought down to 1080p on Medium gets much lighter. For email or chat, 720p is plenty; for previews and drafts, 480p.
- compress video for email, where attachments are limited to around 20-25 MB;
- compress video for Discord to fit the free upload limit;
- MOV to MP4 if an iPhone video won't open.
No watermark, up to 1080p
You get an MP4 (H.264) up to 1080p with no logos. 10 videos a day for free; Pro Video removes the daily limit, from $1.99 a day.
Your video stays on your device
Compression runs on your computer using the browser's built-in GPU acceleration. No waiting for a big file to upload to someone else's server. In our test, a 5.3 MB clip went down to 2.8 MB in 6 seconds.
