Passport photo online
Passport, visa and ID photos for the US, UK, Schengen, China and more. We crop to your face, clean up the background and check the photo against the official rules. Your face stays as it is, and the photo never leaves your device.
Fit your face in the oval and your shoulders under the line. Look straight at the camera, mouth closed, no smile. Best by a light wall, facing a window.
Photo requirements
Print the 4×6 in (10×15 cm) sheet at any photo lab or kiosk: 4×6 size, borderless, no scaling (100%). Then cut along the gray lines.

How to make a passport photo at home
All you need is a phone and a plain light wall. Stand facing a window so the light falls evenly on your face, and ask someone to take the picture from about 1.5 m (5 ft) away with the camera at eye level. Keep your shoulders in the frame and leave a little room above your head. You can also shoot right on this page: Use camera shows an oval for your face and a line for your shoulders, and the 3-second timer gives you time to hold still.
- Pick the document. It sets the photo size, the head height and the background color.
- Upload your photo or paste it with Ctrl+V.
- We find your face, replace the background, straighten a tilt of up to 12° and crop so your head is the required size in millimeters.
- Look through the checks. If the crop needs a nudge, use the zoom and arrow buttons, and Show guides marks the allowed zones.
- Download the print photo, the file for online forms and the print sheets.
Supported documents
19 options in total. Visas: Schengen, US visa, DV lottery (Green Card), China, UK, Canada and India e-Visa. Passports: US, EU, Canada, Belarus and any 35×45 mm ICAO photo. Plus Russian documents, including the internal and international passport.
What we check
- head height and the gap above it in millimeters, plus eye height for US and India photos;
- head turn and tilt, open eyes, closed mouth, smiling;
- shadows on the face, overexposure, sharpness and whether there are enough pixels to print;
- shoulders in the frame and other faces in the shot.
What's free and what's paid
Uploading, cropping and every check are free: you see the finished result with a watermark. To download the files without it, buy a one-time passport photo set for $6.99. It covers one document: a 600 dpi print photo, the file for the online form, a 4×6 in sheet and an A4 sheet, with 24 hours of access and up to 3 downloads. If you need several documents or photos for the whole family, Pro Photo from $2.99 a day is the better deal. One-time payment, no auto-renewal.
We don't change your face
We only crop to the rules and clean up the background. No skin smoothing, no beautifying, no fake clothes. Passport offices may reject photos that were altered by AI, so your face stays exactly as it is.
FAQ
Will my photo be accepted?
We crop, size the head and set the background to the official numbers for the document you pick, and show what passes and what doesn't. The final decision is always made by the office that reviews your application, so shoot in even light, with a neutral face and no shadows.
Where can I print the photos?
Print the 4×6 in (10×15 cm) sheet at any photo lab or drugstore kiosk: 4×6 size, borderless, no scaling (100%). Then cut along the gray lines. The A4 PDF can be printed at home at actual size.
Is my photo uploaded to a server?
No. Face detection and background removal run right in your browser, and your photo stays on your device.
Can I take the photo with my phone?
Yes. Use the back camera or the front one, by a light wall, facing a window, in daylight and without flash. Ideally have someone else take it.
My document isn't on the list. What should I do?
If the rules say 35×45 mm, pick Any country 35×45 (ICAO), the most common standard. Otherwise, write to us through the link at the bottom of the page.
