How did it turn out?
Works foreverA static code keeps the link inside itself and doesn’t depend on us. Dynamic codes don’t get switched off either, even if Pro runs out, and there are no ads before the redirect.
We check that it scansAfter every change we scan the code ourselves and warn you if the colors or logo get in the camera’s way.
Stats for businessDynamic codes show how many times they were scanned, by day, city, device and time. Elsewhere that’s only on expensive plans.

What a vCard QR code does

A vCard QR code holds your contact details in the vCard format every phone understands. After a scan, the phone offers to save the contact with first and last name, company, job title, phone, email, website and address already filled in. Nobody has to type your number or guess how your email is spelled.

How to make a business card QR code

  1. Fill in the fields: first name, last name, company, title, phone, email, website and address. Empty fields are left out of the code.
  2. Match the colors to your brand and add your logo.
  3. We check right away that a camera can read it.
  4. Download SVG or PDF for the printer, PNG for slides and email signatures.

Where to use it

  • Paper business cards. Put the code on the back and keep the front clean.
  • Conference badges. People save your contact while you're still talking.
  • The last slide of a talk. The audience scans it from the screen.
  • Reception desks, shop windows, packaging. Your contact is always within reach.

How much data fits

The more fields you fill in, the denser the code and the larger it needs to be printed. If there's too much data, a warning appears under the code that it will come out small. On a standard business card, a code with name, phone and email reads well from about 0.8 in (2 cm). If you add an address and a long title, go for 1-1.2 in.

In email signatures and on screens

For an email signature, a 1000 px PNG is plenty: insert it and scale it down to 100-120 pixels. For a slide on a projector, use the 2000 px PNG or SVG so it stays sharp on a big screen, and make it at least a fifth of the slide's height so the back row can scan it.

If your details may change

A vCard code stores the details inside it. A new phone number or job title means a new code. To avoid reprinting a whole batch of cards, you can use a dynamic QR code that points to a contact page, like your website or a link-in-bio page, and change where it leads at any time. Dynamic codes come with Pro Business, from $9.99 a month.

Any language

Names and addresses with accents or non-Latin letters are encoded as UTF-8, so they show up correctly on iPhone and Android.

Free and private

No sign-up and no watermark. The code is created in your browser; your contact details aren't sent to a server.

FAQ

How do people scan a vCard QR code?

With their phone camera. iPhone and Android both offer to save the contact.

Do accented and non-Latin names work?

Yes, text is encoded as UTF-8 and displays correctly.

How big should the code be on a business card?

From about 0.8 in (2 cm) with name, phone and email. With more fields, 1-1.2 in.

Can I change the details after printing?

Not with a vCard code. Use a dynamic QR code that links to a contact page instead.
