How did it turn out?
Works foreverA static code keeps the link inside itself and doesn’t depend on us. Dynamic codes don’t get switched off either, even if Pro runs out, and there are no ads before the redirect.
We check that it scansAfter every change we scan the code ourselves and warn you if the colors or logo get in the camera’s way.
Stats for businessDynamic codes show how many times they were scanned, by day, city, device and time. Elsewhere that’s only on expensive plans.

Dynamic vs static QR codes

A static QR code holds the link inside its pattern. It's free and works forever, but you can't change the link after printing. A dynamic code points to a short link on our service, which then redirects to wherever you choose. So you can change the destination at any time while your flyers, stickers and signs stay the same.

What the stats show

  • how many scans per day, so you can see which flyers or ads work;
  • which cities, determined from the network; the visitor's address itself is not stored;
  • which devices and systems: iPhone or Android;
  • what time of day, useful for cafes and shops.

What it's good for

  • Restaurant menus: one code on the tables while the menu changes with the season. More on the menu QR code page.
  • Ads and flyers: the stats show which print run actually works.
  • Product packaging: link to a manual, a promotion or reviews and change it without reprinting.
  • Events: the schedule before, the photo gallery after, with the same code.

How to create a dynamic QR code

  1. Dynamic is already selected.
  2. If you have a Pro Business key, enter it with the Pro button in the header.
  3. Paste the destination link and give the code a name for yourself, like "table menu".
  4. Click Create dynamic code, style it and download the file.
  5. Change the link and view stats later under My dynamic codes.

Your codes won't stop working

This is the big fear with dynamic codes: the service changes its plans and everything you've printed leads nowhere. Not here. Codes are tied to your key, and the key stays the same when you renew. If Pro ends, the code keeps redirecting to the last link you set, with no ads before the redirect. Changing the link and viewing stats work while Pro is active.

Designing a dynamic code

Dynamic codes are styled just like static ones: colors, dot and corner shapes, a logo and a caption. Because the short link is shorter than most real URLs, the pattern is less dense and scans better even at small sizes.

Pricing

Pro Business is from $9.99 a month, with up to 100 dynamic codes per key. One-time payment, no auto-renewal. Static codes are always free. Pro Business is sold separately and isn't included in Pro All.
